Solmio Events: tills for events and festivals

The queue moves, even with a volunteer on the till.

  • A ready till from €79/month

Device, software and payment terminal, excl. VAT.

  • Each additional till €39/month

+ device and payment terminal. Every additional till costs less than the first.

  • We answer in 13 seconds on average

WhatsApp in the evenings and at weekends too. A replacement device fast when you need one.

The headliner is on in ten minutes. The queue keeps moving.

Saturday, 9.50 pm. The headliner comes on in ten minutes, the queue at the beer tent wraps around the fence, and on the till is a volunteer who saw the device for the first time an hour ago. The whole crowd is trying to get onto the same mobile network at once.

When the till takes learning and card payments hang, the queue grows and some buyers give up. The best sales moment of the night slips by.

The same Saturday with Solmio, 9.50 pm. The volunteer sells as if they had done it all summer, because the basic till functions are quick to learn. Cards go through on the event's own network, and deposits go straight back to the card. When the lights go out, sales are in the report by point, and settling with subcontractors starts from ready figures.

Easy for volunteers to learn

The basic till functions are quick to learn. A clear interface makes it easier to train volunteers.

A network that holds

We build the event its own network with a backup connection. If one connection drops, the tills switch to the other on their own.

Deposits back to the card

Can and cup deposits go straight back to the customer's card. No coupons to count, and limits prevent misuse.

When the whole crowd is on one network

The public mobile network jams exactly when sales peak. We build the event its own 4G network, with Starlink, 5G or another line as backup. The tills switch to the backup on their own, with nothing for the seller to do.

Deposit return at an event

Deposits straight back to the card

The deposit goes back to the customer's card without counting coupons. Usage and euro limits prevent misuse, so deposit returns don't leak during the night.

A Solmio eVoucher on a phone screen

Pre-sold vouchers in one scan

Sell food and drinks before the event. The buyer gets the voucher by email, and one scan at the till is enough. Companies can order the same vouchers on invoice.

In the organisers' words

  • The sellers learned the till quickly and the staff gave the tills good feedback. Solmio's team also built a network across the site, which kept the tills online without problems for the whole event.

Marianne Haapoja, executive director, Valkeakoski Music Festival
  • The tills worked well and the volunteers liked them. Even our older helpers learned to use them really quickly.

    Heli Jänismäki, Aitoo Transfiguration Festival

Ready before the gates open

Getting started happens in four steps. Sales points, products and the network are ready before the first customer.

  1. 1

    We go through your event

A specialist goes through the site, the sales points, the products and what has to be sold during the break.

  2. 2

    Devices ready with your products

Devices arrive installed, with products and prices ready. The till, payment terminal and receipt printer are one device with a battery that charges with an ordinary USB-C cable.

  3. 3

    Training for sellers and volunteers

We arrange training for sellers and volunteers as part of the event POS services. The format and price of training are specified in the quote.

  4. 4

Support on site for the whole event

When we build the event's network, the support team is on site. You see sales by point straight away, and after the event the figures for settlement are ready.

Frequently asked questions

Does the till work in a tent or outdoors?

Yes. The event terminal has the till, payment terminal and receipt printer in one device, and it runs on battery during a power cut too.

What if the network goes down mid-evening?

We build the event its own network with a second connection as backup. The terminals have SIM cards from different operators. You can also use two or three payment providers, so if one fails, another carries on.

How does a volunteer learn the till?

The basic till functions are quick to learn. We recommend practising the sales tasks before the event.

How do we settle subcontractors' shares?

Reports show sales by point and by product, so sales-based settlements can be worked out straight from them.

How much do event tills cost?

For example, Solmio One – Season is €139/month per terminal, including the device, payment terminal service, data connection, licences, user guidance and phone support. The event's own network is planned to fit the size of the event.

Who helps on event day?

When a network is built for the event, the support team is on site. Otherwise WhatsApp customer service is available in the evenings and at weekends too.
